Comparative landscape studies 1998-2023

Exercise of observation, representation and imagination  about different events, natural phenomena and stories in urban and rural territories.

Project that takes up the documentary functions of traveling painters and chroniclers around landscape painting. The tradition of "plain air" o al fresco" is based on the exercises of documentary representation, to form visual testimonies about different places. The "in Situ" exercises are basically practiced with drawings in travel notebooks; with watercolors to give color to said notes and finally, thanks to tube containers, taking the oil pigments to the very places of natural events.These functionalities  of image use were largely replaced by photographic technologies, although others remain in force .

In his eagerness to carry out aComparative Landscape Studyinthreethe valley ofMagdalena riverand del Hudson Riverheartificial naturalisttour the findings of collections of exotic species and luxury cars found in the  Hacienda Napoles  to compare with the places where the landscapers of theHudson River School.  This exercise is the result of the comparison of these two waterways, fundamental in the construction of the idea of Nation in both Colombian and American territory,
